Who We Are

Slaapschepen manages the full range of services for accommodation ships, from the moment of chartering to the final return of the vessel, offering full support throughout the accommodation period. As long as there’s water near the destination, we can provide ships for temporary housing for companies and organizations.

What You Will Do

As a chef de partie, you are responsible for the lunch and dinner of our (international) employees and/or residents on board. You are involved in:

  • Pregătirea de mese hrănitoare și proaspete în formă de bufet, respectând bugetul stabilit.
  • Preparing nutritious, fresh buffet meals within the set budget for lunch and dinner for approximately 30 international employees.
  • Following HACCP guidelines at all times.
  • Cleaning the galley and buffet daily and weekly.
  • Maintaining kitchen appliances and the general kitchen environment.
  • Managing kitchen inventory.
  • Placing orders with suppliers.

Your Profile

  • Completed culinary training at Vocational level, with at least 2 years of experience, preferably on river/sea ships or in hotels.
  • Strong knowledge of allergies and dietary requirements.
  • Good knowledge of HACCP regulations.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about cooking.
  • Good command of English; Dutch is a plus.
  • Experience with buffet-style catering is a plus.
  • Experience preparing meals for various nationalities is a plus.
  • Preferably willing to live on board, or residing near Zaandam.
  • STCW Basic certificate is a plus, or willingness to obtain it at the company’s expense.

What We Offer

We offer you a 7-month contract with the possibility of extension. In addition, we provide:

  • 40 hours per week.
  • Versatile role in a pleasant work environment with room for personal input.
  • Salary between € 2.949,20 and € 3.666,96 gross per month (scale 7 according to Dutch hospitality CLA).
  • 25 vacation days per year (full-time).
  • Pension contributions via the Dutch Hospitality & Catering Pension Fund.
  • Room and board may be available.
  • Travel reimbursement of €100 net. at the beginning and end of your contract to travel from your home country to and from the Netherlands.
  • Travel reimbursement of €0.23/km (when you live in the Netherlands and commute to work).
