Municipality of Urk

In March 2022, Slaapschepen provided temporary accommodation for refugees from Ukraine on behalf of the Municipality of Urk. Slaapschepen has mobilized a barge for up to 250 people and stationed it in the port of Urk. At the end of 2022, the number of reception places that the Municipality of Urk wanted became smaller, after which Slaapschepen ensured that adapted accommodation was created. Instead of the barge, a river ship was then stationed in the harbor with room for up to 96 people.
